My Method

If you’d rather experience my method than read about it, I recommend requesting a trial lesson. That way, you’ll get a real sense of how I teach, and I’ll get to know your Spanish level, interests, and goals.

Still, if you’re curious, here’s a quick overview of my teaching approach:

My method is based on the Comprehensible Input theory developed by American linguist and educational researcher Stephen D. Krashen, combined with over 25 years of teaching experience.

For each lesson, I plan a topic tailored to your interests, Spanish level, and goals. We use this topic as the foundation for a conversation, during which I maintain a balance between communication (keeping the conversation flowing), introducing new vocabulary and grammar structures, and offering corrections as needed.

Depending on your learning style and preferences, we may use a variety of materials — such as articles, videos, work-related documents — or we may simply rely on conversation as our primary learning tool.

Topics, materials, and lesson structure are always flexible. This isn’t a “my way or the highway” kind of class — my goal is for you to feel happy and comfortable while making real progress.

Rather than spending a lot of time on long, traditional grammar explanations (like in school), I give quick, actionable tips and examples, and then we apply the grammar in meaningful conversation you can relate to.

Throughout the lesson, I carefully adjust the challenge level. There will be moments where the conversation flows effortlessly, and others where you’ll feel pushed to expand your skills — then it gets easier again, and the cycle continues. That rhythm is key to building fluency and confidence.

Of course, the best way to truly experience how I teach — and for me to learn more about your level, interests, and goals — is by requesting a trial lesson.
